That, and the outing requirement in First Class.As we adult leaders say, there is no substitute for being active on outings. Without an active outing program, advancement of lower rank scouts is very difficult. With a very active outing program, you hardly need to think about it.Generally, you will need to go to a pool. But just do the First Class requirement, it will supercede the Second Class requirement and count for both.Do the swim merit badge if you can swim OK. If you arrange a councilor and a pool and a friend or two to help out as “victims”, it can be done in about 1 2 hours. If you have a new breakout and it just broke the skin, that a great use of Curoxen. After it has been around for 2 3 days and is well on its way to healing, soap and water followed by petrolatum is as good as Curoxen. Maybe better.
